Today I Saw The Faces

by Kevin Gilmartin

It started out as me experimenting with displacement maps and turned out not too bad, eh?

The table with the carved text and knife was another experiment I just flung in as a background. I was trying to carve song lyrics into wood. It's 2 lines from "Believe" by Four Star Mary, and they are "Today I saw the face staring form the pages" and the lines obscured by the book say "there's a whole world full of promises we can break."
I'll probably re-visit this one and tidy it up a bit at some point. It's not really finished.

It is to me an original piece that doesn't need much touch up!

Nice work. I love the aged appearance of the book.
