Bio: I am a self employed designer book binder, making one off books for all manner of reasons mainly Books of Shadows and journals, but many are sold as sketch books for fellow artists. I try and squeeze as much art in as I can in the evenings. I like experimenting with various techniques. and work on whatever inspires me at the time.

I have been asked several times to do a lion for people, for title pages etc for their books, and Aslan for a LWW fan. I wanted to do an Aslan inspired but general lion that could work for all. Apart from the sketched one I did on here, this is my first attempt of a lion. <p>Thought&nbsp;I would have a go at something pretty.</p> <p>&nbsp;Painted on photoshop</p> Winter is here, it&#39;s cold and wet. Everything has died down or hibernating, just waiting for the first signs of Spring, to show winter is ending and new life will begin. Soon the forest will change from a barren space, to a flourishing little world<br />Totally hand drawn in photoshop. The idea I had for this was, a young mermaid who had been scavenging around an old ship wreck came across a painting set. And was particularly proud of her first painting, which of course was of her home. But this turns to shear horror as she watches the paint slowly wash from the page. This is the second version of this picture, hope you like this one better, as i do. <p>Bathing girl in waterfall. The quite peaceful moment, all is quiet and still. <br />This is a Character i am working on, she may-well become a Vampire or Demon Slayer. But this is a moment before the rest of her life, innocent and tranquil. I was thinking maybe the kingfisher is not just a bird, maybe it&#39;s her Spirit guide. The question is is it telling her she is taking the right or wrong path. I wanted to another eye, I&#39;ve learned a lot since doing the first one. But thought it would be better if i did this one a little different. Originally it was going to be a little boy looking at a bug or butterfly. (the butterfly is now on the butterfly and rose picture). I decided this idea was lacking imagination. So after several changes of creature forms. i came up with the idea, of a Child finding a creature that he describes as a Dragonfly (flying dragon). Excitedly telling everyone, but of course nobody would be bothered, everyone seen a dragonfly, so one of the most amazing discoveries stay ignored. Got a little more rounded with the adding of the nest and her first born hatching. This is the most intricate and complicated thing i have tried, so i hope i have pulled it off. Thank you to my son for the use of his likeness. The idea behind this was...<br />The planet was dead covered in fiery sand, with no hope of life. Mother of creation felt the planet had suffered enough. And used her magic to bring life to this desolate place. <br />This surreal picture shows the moment of magic, and what is to come, and her using her power the create new life, with plant a animals. I chose butterflies to depict all animals as they are the symbol of rebirth. In the background the storm is about to start, to put out the flames and bring life to the planet, but the rain has not hit the ground yet. A calm magical moment before it all begins.<br />Hope you like it. getting ready for halloween. thought it would look best in moonlight colour. hope you like them <p>This is something i have not tried before (painting animals).</p> <p>&nbsp;Painted for my mother in laws 70th birthday gift, of her King Charles dogs. The tricolour sadly passed away last year. I did it as an old traditional dog portrait style. I hope she likes it, we will find out later.<br />On a personal note, don&#39;t think i will be painting dogs again (though i may do mine). dog are way to hard, especially if they have to look like a particular one/two.</p> This was supposed to be more about the feel of the piece, rather than being technically perfect (though i do think the water came out quite well, HA!). I imagine a couple on a date on a very hot night messing about in a water fountain on the way home. Then having that perfect magical first kiss. There is only one first kiss, and it&#39;s supposed to be magical. I wish.... can&#39;t even remember mine, HA! but we may as well add a bit of fantasy, it&#39;s art after all. This was more of a painted look than maybe you are used to from me, and a bit of an experiment. Originally i had them under a street light in the poring rain. But i was never really happy with it. so this is version 2 or is that 3, maybe 4. i like this one much better anyway. hope you like it too. Painted on photoshop, with a lighting effect to add interest. Experiment with a whole new look (for me). I hope it worked, please let me know what you think. There are many version of the Little Red Ridinghood story. But in this version poor Granny did not live to tell her side. Now not so little Red is much older and tougher, and she is out for revenge. Returning to Granny&#39;s old cottage, she may well be aiming for a new coat. Based on an idea my husband had, which really did not do to plan please see, [link] i just well..... fleshed it out a bit. <p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0cm" itxtvisited="1">Wonderful nature??? This is one thing that got me thinking. What do I think is wonderful about nature. The trees that come to life again in spring? The way nature can restore itself after a horrific fire? Then I thought about animals. Most of us would take in an abandon wild animal if we found one. Or at least take it to a sanctuary that we know would give it good care. But it is amazing to me that on rear occasions, a wild animal come across an abandoned human child, they will return the favour. Though some say many of these stories are myth and legion. There are many true stories of wolves becoming a<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Sans Serif" itxtvisited="1"><font size="2" itxtvisited="1">doptive parents of feral children, but not just wolves, dogs, chimpanzees, monkeys, goats, bears, leopards, jackals, ostriches, pigs and other animals have had the maternal instinct to look after the child and bring it into their family.</font></font></p> <p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0cm" itxtvisited="1"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, Sans Serif" itxtvisited="1"><font size="2" itxtvisited="1">So this is what I decided to do as my latest piece. A mother wolf who has taken a young abandoned baby as her own, and is very much part of the family. This I did set at night, so the only light would be reflected from the moon on them as they sleep in the entrance to their den. The mother forever watchful awake. And the other young cub just stirring, snugly cuddled up to the baby, maybe in attempt to keep him warm or maybe just because it&#39;s comfy.</font></font></p> <p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0cm" itxtvisited="1">Hope you like it.</p> I&nbsp;wanted it to look more like you have discovered the garden rather than within it. so the garden runs out more to left out of shot. i imagine some magical creature, or person living within, using the herbs and flowers from their garden to create their magic.<br itxtvisited="1" /> If you have seen "Return to Granny&#39;s Cottage" In my gallery if not, Little red is out for revenge. But i deciede to start from the begining. By the way in Returns you will see a photo mounted on the wall. This is one of granny&#39;s other photos taken on the same day. LITTLE RED RIDDING HOOD Once upon a time there lived in a village at the edge of vast wood a beautiful young girl, She had lovely dark hair and bright blues eyes. Her skin was perfect with cheeks of a natural fresh glow, her lips a deep pink colour that were always smiling. Her mother was excessively fond of her, and worried sometimes about the day she would finally grow up and leave her side. She had no father, as he had left some time ago, Little Red (as everyone called her) could hardly remember him, and was happy with it just being her and her mother, and her beloved Grandmother who lived deep within the woods. Her grandmother doted on her even more, and wished they would come and live with her in her big old cottage in the wood. But Little Red needed school, and her mother had to work in the village. ?It&#39;s just not practical, or safe to keep travelling through the woods, especially at night.? Replied Red mother, when Granny used to ask. Everyone knew the little girl as little red, as know matter where she was going she always wore red. ?It looks so beautiful against your dark hair.? her mother told her once. And from that day on no other colour would do. One Autumn as the day began to get colder her grandmother gave her a beautiful red cloak. ?It&#39;s a red riding hood. I made especially for you, I found this beautiful fabric. and thought it must have been created just for you.? She then went into great detail, as Granny&#39;s do about the rest of what she did that day, and who she spoke to, and how it was made. But I see no reason to bore you with the conversation as well. Little red squealed with delight when she saw it, thanked her grandmother, and rushed to a mirror to put it on. It suited the girl so extremely well, that she always wore it. Even when the days became warmer and summer arrived, she still insisted that she must wear her red hood. It did not take long for everyone to start calling her Little Red Riding Hood. This would be one of the photos Granny took on the day she gave Red the ridding hood. Hope you like it, and the bit of a story too. HA! I aways have had a fascination for eyes.&nbsp; <div class="text block pppt">Photoshop painting, is something I am very new at.&nbsp;This was all drawn from scratch with my Aiptek (hope to be upgrading to a Wacom very soon). </div> <div class="text block pppt">I was trying to work on skin textures and reflections. but the eyelashes were the biggest pain.&nbsp;but pleased how this came out.<br /><br />If you are wondering. it is christmas lights reflecting in her eye.&nbsp; Well actually it&#39;s a house decorated in lights. You may just be able to work out the lights on the roof&nbsp;and the&nbsp;window on the left, and the side of a christmas tree on the right.</div> <p>Please don&#39;t asked me how I am, you only make me lie.</p> <p>Clown getting ready to perform getting overcome by his real emotions. I wanted to do these considered monsters in a more passionate way. It&#39;s not there fault what they look like, and they would have feelings as with any other creature. in a more happier ending to the story. they have found love and hope in each other. photoshop painting
