<strong>Dryads</strong> <em>are tree nymphs in Greek mythology. In Greek drys signifies &#39;oak,&#39; from an Indo-European root *derew(o)- &#39;tree&#39; or &#39;wood.&#39; Thus dryads are specifically the nymphs of oak trees, though the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general.</em><br /> <br /> -<br /> <br /> Mostly painted and repainted work. Mixed media, created December 2007 Anything is possible if you just imagine..<br /> <br /> -<br /> <br /> I thought I would never finish this. I painted it all completely and was about 3 hours from finishing it (after spending about 40 hours on it) and i overwrote the file!<br /> It was huge and I replaced it with the tiny version I had to show my boyfriend. So that was stupid!<br /> I decided after much frustration to make it all over again so here it is.<br /> <br /> Painted completely in photoshop CS with the use of a wacom intuos2. <br /> <br /> The dress was a killer but I really wanted to practice a bit with my fabric skills since I&#39;m still really lacking them. <br /> I learned a lot with this one. Hope you like it!<br /> <br /> Enjoy! I&#39;m obsessed with wolves. I always wanted to paint one.<br /> <br /> Hopefully this isn&#39;t a disappointment from my usual fantasy art. I was going for a photo-realistic feel. <br /> <br /> It was painted from scratch in photoshop with a wacom. Reference was used I would love to be able to conjure up butterflies at will <img src="/aries/FCKeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/angel_smile.gif" alt="" /><br /> <br /><br />Classic fantasy piece, not much more to say.<br /><br /> Painted from scratch in photoshop CS. A little fairy, I like it. It&#39;s a combination of digital painting and manipulation. Well this one was quite a challenge. The model is based on 3 different pictures. Everything was repainted. For a change I tried to paint some floral patterns and laces. It was fun doing all the detail work. <br /> <br /> I really like her expression, it captures my whole idea of the metamorphosis series very well. Rebirth, coming back as a better person after being hurt. Changing into something you never imagined you could be. <br /> I hope you all enjoy viewing this piece.<br /> <br /> Emerald
