Thank you to "Snowcone" for modeling for me! Inspired by A Pefect Circle's "Vanishing" and very loosely based on a Photoshop Creative tutorial from issue 53. My daughter was gracious enough to model for me. My first serious attempt at creating a photomontage. All images in this work were shot exclusively by myself. No stock images were used. I entered this into a photo contest at the end of February (juat days after I finally finished work on it) February and took third place in the "Open" catergory. I wanted to capture both the dreariness of winter and the vibrance of spring here - that certain time of the year where those two seasons briefly meet. I personified spring as the rainbow-colored goose, bring back color, light and life to the barren landscape. Based on the featured article in issue 54 of Photoshop Creative - "Blur Filters". Rendered in Elements 7 using the gaussian blur filter. Dodging and burning used to create the snake. The second photomontage I've taken a great deal of time in creating...everything leading up to this has been "practice", "fooling around" and "learning". With this work, I really wanted a finished product I could be proud to show off. I know it's nowhere near some of the caliber of work I see here, but having no formal training and little experience, I'm quite proud of it! Comments and suggestions are welcome as is constructive criticism!
