Flyer design for client VIA 216. Time: 1HOUR 30MINUTES This flyer design was a lot of fun to work on and I tried out a few interesting things with the typography. I've found that flyer design happens to be a great way to build up that skill and play with new type lock ups. Ascension is inspired by my best friend Tiffany, a fantastic dancer who always gives me a terrific muse. I really enjoyed working on Force of Nature. I've been so busy with agency and freelance work that I haven't had as much time as I would like for blogging and personal work. Force of Nature was a chance to do something very interesting visually while using basic techniques and not "overdoing" anything. This was my entry for this months forum challenge on Time Travel. I wanted to try out a few interesting ways of applying my lighting effects. I think the experiment yielded some pretty stunning results. Lady Huntress of Autumn Inspired the novel by Gail Z Martin, The Summoner was a lot of fun to work on and provided me with a real way to take advantage of lighting effects. KTF is probably one of my best artworks to date. I was heavily influenced by tutorials and artwork by Rob Shields in the way I approached this. This image took 6 hours in photoshop. This image is my take on the view from here concept that istockphoto has been using in their ads lately. The model is from mjranum-stock.deviatnart.com Trying out some more effects. My submission for the current web challenge. Lady Snowflake is probably my most solid "digital painting" work to date. The brush work took hours to get just right, but I was happy with the results from that effort. I'm going to be entering this in Photoshop Creative's Forum Challenge, "Seasons". It took a lot to get the right blend of painterly effects while keeping the sharp details in the face and hair as much as possible. I also wanted to create the illusion of motion or wind while using those elements to manipulate eye direction back to the central figure. Despite the winter theme of this image, I didn't want the model to come off as frigid, or "cold", there were subtle things I did in the retouch work to accomplish this. "Dark Leap" is one of my recent adventures into the vivid commercial effects imaging that has become so popular among other designers.
