This is a completed version of the image I created for The ImagineFX weekly challenge #124 Bad Omen. It won for that week in a very close race with some other Great artist who entered.<br /><br />I reused a character that I created for Ace in The Hole, Cal. Now when cal was a young girl her mother went missing after a lot of peculiar events took place in town. She never was found and young Cal was left in the care of her mothers best friend and business partner Black Pearl. After a while they found in Miss Cal&#39;s mothers things this odd deck of cards. How odd no one knew til Pearl&#39;s great granma saw them. They was a deck of cards soaked in magic. Deep magic. Old magic. Mostly the cards could be used to see the immediate future, but they could be used in other ways if one knew how. Any way this here time the cards ,based on a card reading system called ARCANA ARCANORUM, told of a werebeast, a cat thing and how cal had to take charge if we were to survive.<br /><br />Here follows meanings of the Cards <br /><br />FOUR OF SPADES: FREEDOM: Lifting of oppression; the inner power of the individual stands unchained.<br /><br /> QUEEN OF CLUBS: EQUILIBRIUM, The essential balance of the Universe. All was once in Equilibrium; one day, all will return.<br /><br />ACE OF DIAMONDS: MATERIALITY, The physical; the temptations. Here is the lovely Callisto &quot;Calico&quot; MacKenna, She grew up in Buckskin, a wild west town that never was in the Colorado foothills. Her mother was a noted beauty and owned the best saloon in the region. She had come from back East with some money and a past blurred in scandal and murder. Her father is unknown but is rumored to have been in the army and now is playing politics back east. This wild west world has a Indian nation on the west side of the Rockie Mountains, and magic and things left better not spoke about in front of children and wimmen folk. So when trouble comes a callin in Buckskin, Calico not only wants an ace-in-the-hole but a fist full of them. Makes things more easier on everyone that way. Amen.<br />this is for a forum challenge at another site. pencil scan finished in photoshop Again for a forum challenge titled Wicked Carnival. These are the the snake women and there leader Cobra Queen. They charm the snakes as well as the male admirers and every now and then one goes missing. male admirer that is not the snakes. pencil sketch and then finished in photoshop CS3. This was a great learning piece for me. For a weekly forum challenge at ImagineFX titled The Unleashed. This is for an art challenge at another site. This was a pencil sketch brought into pscs3 and painted there. some texture imports were used. This is Medea calling on Hecate her patron deity, asking for revenge on her wayward husband Jason of golden fleece fame. This was going to be my entry into the competition but I’m not mac savvy enough to figure out how to configure my e-mail. (Damn I wish they would just speak english). So I decided to post it here. I started it this morning and worked on it off and on till about 2 p.m. photo of the man was put through levels and then cutout and pasted onto a new document. brushes from deviney called rons watercolor and rons flourishes created the water color and design background and the watercolor filter and brushes the watercolor feel to the man. Done in Photoshop CS3 I used and altered a stockphoto and created the background and skull. This was created because of all the paranormal romance books I saw on arecent trip to the bookstore. I had a great time because its on my new set-up at home and I don&rsquo;t usually get to work on much out side of work. Which will now change because of the equipment I now have at home. Would appreciate any honest comments. This was my entry in the 2D graphic forum April theme :Rebirth pencil sketch and completed in photoshop stated out as a entry in the 2D forum April challenge at ImagineFX. But could not complete it in time but liked the way it was going. Girl started out as a pencil sketch and completed in photoshop Just wanted to do something that was very seasonal, because everything here in this part of Florida is blooming. Image of the woman was from a stock photo cd that i own. two of the brushes are from deviney, ron’s watercolor and ron’s flourishes. done for a forum challenge about zombies. pencil sketches scanned and brought into photoshop and completed there. Finally got to use the tablet and getting the feel for it. The stars are alined and the seal has been opened. the evil is lose. A dark creature has been set free and is climbing out of a well/pit where it had been entombed for an age. started out as a pencil sketch and done entirely in photoshop... Finished work. I wanted a water color feel for the final look. I tried to play with atmosphere and color to add to the feeling of isolation. I thought the knife that I created in illustrator and the gem on top came out very well. The knife i based on bronze age designs. The woman is from Big stock photo. The flower I took. Wanted to show the spirit of a single Hibiscus blossom. his was for the ImagineFX October 2009 challenge, Witches Moon. I was coming up clueless on what to do but I found some great stock to use as reference (at RLD Stock Sparta woman 101 [link] The quality and creativeness of the stock is terrific. ) and started listening to the dance remix version of "Defying Gravity" from the play "Wicked." it was the first time I have done all the work in gray scale and then used overlay layers to add the color in. Different process, but I can see its value. The is for a weekly challenge at ImagineFX titled MONSTER. Just a nice little dragon doing what he does, hoarding treasure torching villagers and eating virgins. Just what in heck does this fool think he&#39;s going to do to him. Anyway the dragon is trying to figure out the best way to finish the pesky knight off. Can openers weren&#39;t invented yet. I think that the horns may look better really dark and I might change them soon. WAs from the same set of photos of morning doves setting on my grill. Cropped the photo and used Photoshop brushes, the watercolor filter and CG textures. The woman was a b&w stock image from a disc I own and the flowers I took. Wanted to do something fun and light-hearted. This is a cropped version of my entry into another ImagineFX monthly forum contest titled Jaded. My idea was for a Shanghai Lily type of woman. One that has seen and done to much at an early age and now the only comfort she can find is from her opium pipe.
